The Story Behind VaultRule

"I didn't build VaultRule because I love spreadsheets. I built it because I hated them."

Hi, I’m the founder of VaultRule.

Like many of you, I tried strict budgeting apps, detailed tracking, and "envelope systems." They all worked for two weeks. Then life happened, I missed a few entries, felt guilty, and quit.

I realized the problem wasn't my discipline—it was the friction. Tracking every coffee purchase is exhausting and, frankly, unnecessary.

I needed a system that protected my bills but allowed me to enjoy my life without checking an app every time I bought lunch. That is how the 2-Account System was born.

Now, I share this framework to help you stop tracking and start living.

Our Mission

VaultRule exists to make personal finance feel calm and controllable. The goal is simple: protect your bills and make spending limits real — without constant tracking.

What VaultRule Is

  • A simple framework built around two buckets: Vault (bills) and Flow (spending)
  • Designed to work best with automation and guardrails
  • Built for people who want clarity, not complexity
